Advantages

Gazarray measures the moisture of each of the individual bales within an entire truck load of hay, all at once. There’s no need to double-handle bales or even come to a stop with this easy to use, drive-through moisture sensing solution.

Efficient – Gazarray automates bale moisture testing. Trucks don’t even need to stop to sample the entire load.

Detailed – microwaves go where probes simply cannot meaning you get a more complete picture of each bale’s moisture content than ever before.

Accurate – Non-contact, microwave technology measures total density of water molecules within a huge volume – NOT the conductivity of a single point.

Customisable – We can tailor a Gazarray solution to exactly fit your hay transport operation.

How does it work?

Axial tomography (CAT scan) is performed while the truck is in motion via an array of microwave antennae. Variance in the microwave signal between active and passive antenna pairs is used to precisely map areas of high moisture within the load.

How long does it take?

Practically no time at all! The sensor arch is positioned at the approach to a hay processing plant’s weighbridge, meaning no extra time is added to the delivery workflow. A simple traffic light system gives truck drivers instant feedback for maintaining optimal speed through the moisture gauge.

Is it easy to use?

Yes – The results are displayed on the operator’s terminal as a series of cross-sectional images, along the length of the load, from above and in side profile. Areas with high moisture are clearly highlighted for further inspection and treatment. Wet spots are automatically combined to mark whole bales as out of range.

Is it reliable?

Very – Gazarray uses the same technology as our popular 870 baler-mounted moisture guages, proven and improved over many years and thousands of installations.

Can I review the data?

Anytime – individual truck data is stored for future reference.

Less time, more confidence

The Gazarray 916 gives you much more detailed information, much more quickly than hand probing ever could with a scanning volume of approximately 80% of all hay on the truck. Plus, measurements are taken right through the whole load, from top to bottom, covering many regions totally inaccessible to handheld hay probes.

Is it safe?

Of course! The microwave transmissions are of a similar frequency and power to WiFi networks and are only active for a short time while the load on the truck is blocking the optical sensors.
